By creating an account or calling the Vatio API ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Vatio provides US electricity-grid data — wholesale prices, demand, and generation by fuel — over an HTTP API, sourced from public operators and aggregators and served from our own store. Coverage and cadence vary by grid and metric and may change.
You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. Calls made with your key count against your plan. Tell us promptly if a key is compromised; you can rotate keys from your dashboard.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor (Stripe). You can cancel anytime; access continues to the end of the paid period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with notice for future periods.
Underlying data comes from public sources including the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) and grid operators such as CAISO. Vatio is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by EIA or any grid operator. Data is provided "as is", may be delayed, incomplete, restated, or inaccurate, and must not be relied on as the sole basis for trading, dispatch, safety, or other critical decisions. We make no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vatio is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
You may stop using the Service anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. 6, 7) survive.
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
